Camp Counsellor

As a Camp Wannakumbac counsellor, you will be responsible for leading a cabin of 12 campers, supervision, and leading activities. You will help students grow as individuals and help them learn new skills. Every counsellor is required to lead activities through the week ranging from archery to arts ‘n’ crafts to hiking. You will form long-lasting friendships with your fellow counsellors and make tons of memories.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a cabin of 12 campers
  • Teach & supervise daily activities
  • Complete regularly scheduled housekeeping duties
  • Complete scheduled maintenance duties
  • Participate positively in all assigned tasks
  • Abide by general safety regulations and camp beliefs
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director or Programmer

Requirements

  • $600 bi-weekly with Room and Board included
  • 6 weeks through July and August
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must have CIT experience and/or experience working with youth
  • Must have current:
    • CPR and First-Aid Certification
    • Criminal Record Check
    • Child Abuse Registry Check

Lifeguard

As a lifeguard, you will have the same responsibilities as a counsellor including duties at the waterfront. You will be lead by the Waterfront Director who will be one of your fellow counsellors.

  • Conducting and enforcing safety at the waterfront
  • Maintenance of aquatic equipment
  • Planning and directing water activities
  • Lifeguarding
  • Maintain a strong line of communication with the Director

  • Work in a team environment

Requirements and Details

  • $600 bi-weekly with Room and Board included
  • 6 weeks through July and August
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must have CIT experience and/or experience working with youth

    • NLS certification
    • Bronze Cross
    • CPR and First-Aid Certification
    • Criminal Record Check
    • Child Abuse Registry Check
